It’s been a really good summer thus far with my cartoons and opportunities in the publishing field. I’ve had the good fortune to have been contacted by author Michael Fleishman who’s written the definitive work on being a successful graphic designer and freelance illustrator. He’d emailed me after reading this blog and indicated he’d like me to contribute to his chapter on the greeting card industry. I’d received a package in the mail last week, and lo and behold, it was, “Starting Your Career As a Graphic Designer”, the first book in a two part series.
If you are an illustrator, cartoonist, graphic designer, or visual creative of any stripe, and you’d like to explore the possibilities of making it your business, this book will prove valuable. It’s chock full of very up-to-date insights and resources. And if you turn to page 250, you’ll read the input I provided on the greeting card markets. Then, on page 264 and 265, you’ll see 8 of the cartoons I’ve licensed to various greeting card companies.
I’m really proud and grateful to have been given the opportunity to contribute to Mr. Fleishman’s book and hope it offers something useful to the whole.
I’m off to the bookstore to get a copy 😊
Thank you Grooch – I’m interested in your feedback when you get it!
