I won’t pretend for a minute to have any expertise in this area – it’s only my contention that cartoonists – any business for that matter – must participate and remain relatively visible through the newest social media. Facebook has become an indispensible place to spread the word about your work, and my page has attracted some new people who, I suspect, might never have heard about my work.
Twitter has become the favored method for short-length messages to the world, and can be an engaging place to spend time. Again, I’m not at all clear on how it all works, but it’s great to see people connecting with my work through my Twitter page, @abbottcartoons and I enjoy following my fellow cartoonists there as well.
